Drive Towards Freedom: Support Greg's Van Fund

Hello, my name is Greg, and I’m reaching out to share my story with you. For over 15 years, I have lived as a quadriplegic (C6), navigating the challenges that come with this condition. Living in the rural mountain town of Salmo, BC, I face significant limitations due to the lack of public transit. Simple day-to-day tasks like grocery shopping or attending essential medical appointments have become daunting hurdles.

What’s more, it has been over three years since I last saw my grandparents and family in Saskatchewan, as well as friends and family on the BC coast. I dearly miss the warmth of their hugs and the joy of being together. A wheelchair-accessible van would mean the world to me; it would not only provide the freedom to handle my daily needs but also allow me to reconnect with my family and friends.

This van is essential for realizing my dream of becoming a full-time speaker and inspirational teacher. I have a powerful story of resilience and a deep understanding of nature's laws that I want to share with others, helping them live in harmony with the world around them. I believe that when people help others, it brings joy and fulfillment, and I am committed to using this van in the most impactful way possible.

I envision delivering presentations to schools, colleges, and businesses across BC and Canada, using my experiences to inspire and uplift those I meet. Having a reliable mode of transportation would empower me to spread my message of hope and positivity.

Currently, I am using a Honda CRV, which, while functional, presents significant challenges. Transferring into the vehicle requires tremendous effort, and disassembling my wheelchair piece by piece to fit it inside is not only painful but exhausting—especially during our harsh winters. The strain on my back and body makes each journey a daunting task, and it takes a toll on my independence.

With a wheelchair-accessible van, I would regain the ability to live a normal life, allowing me to grocery shop independently and support my partner. This van will not only enhance my independence but also allow me to contribute more meaningfully to our household.

I am seeking to raise $12,000 to purchase this much-needed van.
