Drive For Demario
On December 13, 2014, Demario Bailey, a 15 year old student at Chicago's Johnson College Prep, was shot and killed during a robbery attempt while heading to basketball practice at school with his twin brother, Demacio. I met Demario's family and was struck by their courage and compassion in the immediate aftermath of this murder. That feeling stayed with me, and wondered if I might be able to do more.
With the knowledge and support of both Demario's family and Johnson College Prep, I began the #DriveForDemario campaign to attempt to secure the donation of a vehicle for Demario's school in his memory. This vehicle will be used by Johnson College Prep to help transport students to and from extracurricular activities.
Now, a vehicle has been offered, and I am attempting to raise the funds to purchase this vehicle. It is my hope that you will help me do this.
