Driving for Dollars
Hello!
My name is Kaden Zinkle. I am 13 years old and I love to golf! One day I told a friend it would be fun to see how many holes of golf we could play in one day. Then I thought it would be neat to see if we could raise some money for a charity while doing it. This is how the “Driving for Dollars” day started.
The event will be held on Monday, August 24th at Lake Windsor Country Club. It will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at sundown. My teammates and I will play golf all day finishing as many holes each as we can throughout the day.
I did some thinking about what charity I would like to support. I decided the Steve Stricker Foundation was a good one this year. There are a few reasons for this. First, the AmFam tournament was cancelled for this year, which resulted in millions of dollars lost to the Foundation. Second, I like that it ties into golf. Third, the Steve Stricker Foundation supports groups in and around Dane County, including Deforest. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a link to “Grant Recipients.” It is a great foundation and the money stays local.
