Help Drkmttr!
Greetings from Drkmttr HQ.
Our five-year run has had lots of ups and downs. When the first chapter ended, it was only the beginning.
After Drkmttr I and collectivizing, Drkmttr II, a reconstituted barbershop, opened… then closed (after the Ghost Ship fire)… then reopened (thanks to a successful GoFundMe, and getting greenlit by the codes department to do it legitimately)… then closed permanently a year later.
By this point, finding commercial real estate anywhere in Nashville was not easy, much less affordable. Then we met our current landlords. We are happy and lucky to be at 1111 Dickerson Pike. The space is great, the shows have been great and the response from the community has been amazing. Since opening two years ago, though, we’re still
consistently fighting to break even.
That brings us to COVID-19 — the scariest, craziest thing to happen to our world in years. Without tours coming through, with moratoriums on public gatherings and no reason to be open, we are in a tough spot.
Our bank account will be wiped out next month with our rent, not counting bills and other necessary improvements that were already in the works. If you love Drkmttr and spaces like it, please consider donating to help us get through this uncertain time.
Whether it’s touring bands, local bands, Rock Camp showcases, stand-up comedy, theater, movie nights, food pop-ups, we are here for you, Nashville (and beyond!). Help us stay open!
