Drogheda Postals Appeal For Lourdes Hospital

Drogheda Postal Operatives ‘Irelands Call’ for Lourdes Hospital staff

The postal delivery staff at An Post Delivery Services Unit Drogheda Co Louth expressed a desire to raise funds for the frontline staff in the Lourdes hospital who are doing such  wonderful work during this pandemic.

From this came the idea of  recording a version of the well-known Phil Coulter song ‘Ireland’s Call’, with the lyrics  changed slightly to encourage the public to stay at home during the pandemic. All of the services provided to achieve this were donated at no cost

The staff at the An Post Drogheda Delivery Services Unit are passionate about the Fund raising aspect of this exercise. The front line staff in Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital and indeed all Front Line Staff worldwide have shown the depth of their commitment, bravery and resilience in the face of danger on a daily basis. Some have paid the ultimate price for their bravery and dedication. The latest threat to the safety of Front line staff is the procurement of PPE . The government announced just last weekend that the cost of this could be as much as 1 billion euro.

This contribution by the staff of An Post Drogheda is a small gesture  but this could evolve into a significant one with your support.
