Help Me Provide Drought Relief for Somalia

Donation protected

Southern Somalia, Jubaland state specifically, has entered into a drought where there is an extreme water  shortage. Wells and tributaries have dried up as the heat has been increasing, and there have been more and more dehydrations reported.

Nomads and pastoralists have lost over thousands of livestock  since they have been unable to reach water.

We are hoping to collect money to provide emergency water trucking for communities far away from rivers and wells. Those communities either have their water source dried up or no infrastructure to reach water.

We have received reports of extreme dehydration of the people and death of of livestock in Gedo and Middle Juba.

All the wells of small towns such as Fahfahduun,  Gariley, Carracaase have dried up, and villages around Elwak and the border of Kenya and Gedo are experiencing extreme shortage of water. Towns in Middle Juba and Lower Juba are also experiencing extreme shortage of water.

Please donate anything you can. We have already started the water trucking and need your help to continue. We will distribute the money where it is needed the most by sending water tankers to those villages. A full water tanker is going for $115 to $200 per trip depending on district

Anything helps and we are trying to do this as fast as possible

For each family in a village water trucking provides immediate relief for a couple days.
