Drove Primary School Sleep Out
Donation protected
Recently a group of children from school came up with the idea to raise money for the Swindon Night Shelter, a local charity located on Queens Drive in Swindon. The charity are desperate for a new washing machine as they are constantly washing clothes throughout the day and night for people who are homeless. In order to support with this, myself and other Drove Primary School colleagues will be sleeping outside overnight on Friday 18th February. ** DUE TO SCHOOL CLOSURE BECAUSE OF STORM EUNICE , NEW DATE TBC **
The charity themselves, Night Shelter, is a Christian charity with the vision to be able to offer a safe, warm and secure place to spend the night for anyone over the age of 18 who has nowhere else to sleep. Everyone needs to be accepted and treated with dignity. In a world of homelessness, addiction, fear, rejection and marginalisation the Swindon Night Shelter aims to come alongside the needy to show that somebody does care. The Shelter offers a hot meal, fresh clean clothes, a chance to shower, a bed for the night and food to take away as well as a chance to relax, and to explore their faith. They also have a day centre open daily.
Any donation, either big or small would be greatly recieved. Thank you.
