DRP Turkiye 2024 Symposium to fully support the students!

Merhabalar,

Biz DRP Turkiye ekibiyiz. Gonulluluk esasina dayanan bu programimizi severek ve bir maddi karsilik beklemeden 4 yildir duzenliyoruz. Programin bu seneki sempozyumunda katilimcilarin masraflarini karsilamak icin sizlerin yardimlariniza ihtiyacimiz var.

DRP Turkiye nedir? Türkiye'deki üniversitelerde matematik ve benzeri bolumlerde okuyan lisans öğrencilerini, dünya çapındaki enstitülerde gorev yapan genç araştırmacılarla eşleştirerek matematik okumasi ve calismasi yapmalarini saglayan bir programdir. 2 aylik cevrimici okuma surecinden ve bu surecin sonunda ogrencilerin calismalarini sunduklarini 1 haftalik sempozyumdan olusur.

Sempozyum: Bu sene 1-6 Eylul tarihlerinde Sabanci Universitesi’nde duzenlenecektir. Sempozyum boyunca katilimcilarin kampusteki konaklamalari ve yeme icme ihtiyaclari, ayrica kampuse sehirici veya sehirdisindan ulasim masraflari tarafimizdan karsilanmasi planlanmaktadir.

Destekler: DRP Turkiye CIMPA dahilindeki AESIM okullarindan biridir ve CIMPA tarafindan desteklenmektedir. Ayrica kurulumundan beri Turk Matematik Dernegi’nin Matematik Arastirmalari Dostu projesi olarak da destek almaktadir.

Fakat bu seneki desteklerin, Turkiye’deki enflasyondan oturu artan fiyatlar yuzunden sempozyum masraflarini karsilayamamasi riski ile karsi karsiyayiz. Bu yuzden sizlerden yardim talep ediyoruz.

Gelecek seneler icin fon bulma arastirmalarini genisletecegiz ve bu ongoremedigimiz durumla tekrar karsilasmamak icin yeni cozumler bulmaya calisacagiz. Bu konudaki onerilerinizi de bizimle paylasirsaniz cok seviniriz.

Programimizin hem lisans öğrencileri hem de mentorler icin karşılıklı büyüme ve işbirliğini teşvik ettigi faydali bir deneyim kazandirdigini hatirlatmak isteriz. Gecen seneki katilimcilarimizdan birinin program ile ilgili deneyimlerini paylastigi yazisini okuyabilirsiniz.

We are DRP Türkiye. We have been organizing this volunteer-based program with love and without expecting any financial compensation for four years. We need your support now to cover the expenses of the participants for this year's symposium.

Please find below a brief description of the program and why we need this support. For more detailed information, you can visit our website.

What is DRP Türkiye? It is a program that pairs undergraduate students studying mathematics or related fields at universities in Turkey with young researchers from institutions around the world. The program consists of a 2-month online reading process, culminating in a 1-week symposium where students present their work.

Symposium: This year, the symposium will be held at Sabancı University from September 1-6. The participants' accommodation and food on campus, as well as transportation expenses to the campus are desired to be covered by us.

Support: DRP Türkiye, as being one of the AESIM schools within CIMPA, is supported by CIMPA. It has also been supported by the Turkish Mathematical Society's Mathematics Research Support Fund since its beginning.

However, due to rising costs caused by inflation in Turkey, there is a risk that the support we have received this year will not cover the symposium expenses.

We will expand our efforts to find funding for future years and try to find new solutions to address such unexpected situations. We would also appreciate any suggestions you may have on this matter.
