DRTY Ice Cream Needs Some Good Luck

We have had a tough year. In January, our owner Abby's car was struck by a negligent driver and unfortunately was written off. Abby was lucky enough to get a new van in March, but in April it was broken into, and her garage door opener was stolen. Whoever broke into the van then used the garage door opener to open our storage garage unit and stole over $2000 worth of equipment, inventory, raw materials, merchandise, even our transportation carts. Our community came through and helped us raise enough to recuperate our costs! 

We thought our bad luck had come to an end.

But unfortunately, on May 3rd our owner Abby was driving the new van when she struck by a drunk driver 8am. The impact was so hard that the van spun 180 degrees into the on coming traffic where it was struck a second time by another vehicle. The driver ran off on foot, committing a hit and run under the influence, but the driver was found, arrested, and charged with multiple charges. The van, unfortunately, has also been written off. Abby is recovering from her injuries - however cannot drive due to PTSD and her injuries have prevented her from making ice cream, so we've been working double time to make sure orders are met & fulfilled. We are a small team and these series of unfortunate events have drastically have set us back from achieving the many plans we've had this summer, as well as financially. 

We are hoping to catch a break soon. We've decided to start this fund as an ongoing funding project to help us with delivery fees, future projects, and potentially hiring some help for production. Abby has been working her butt off getting DRTY Ice Cream off the ground, and this financial help will give Abby a chance to rest and to help bring some of our dreams to life.
