Save a Life: The Child You Save Could Be Your Own
Tax deductible
The news tells us nearly 200 people die each day from opioids! Statistics are so impersonal but life gets very personal when you find your own daughter or son collapsed on the floor or receive a call that your child overdosed. I pray you haven’t had to live through this.
It is easier for children to get marijuana, opioids, LSD, Ritalin, cocaine and other street and prescription drugs at school than it is to buy them on the street and parents are often the last to learn that their kids are using drugs. Even when they do know they often don’t know how to help, “What do I say?” “Can we even have a productive conversation?”
Our children are confused and misled by mixed messages about drugs in the media, peer pressure, false and misleading data from vested interests and misinformation from friends who are repeating the same misinformation they heard. The result—they are using drugs and alcohol at an earlier and earlier age.
Police, courts and the revolving door of failed rehabilitation are ineffective but there is an answer!
For nearly 25 years we’ve delivered drug education lectures in schools and produced videos that that have educated students in public and private schools. We’ve reached hundreds of thousands of children and teens with effective education led youth to choose a drug free life. (You can see the study that backs up this statement .)
The Truth About Drugs Video Program, a full sized, 8-session drug education video program, is classified as an “evidence-based program” by the US government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Evidence-based classification means that the program has demonstrated that it produces verifiable positive results so it can be used as a curriculum in public schools. To our knowledge we are the only such program to receive classification as evidence-based.
To quote from SAMHSA’s review of the program, “The program is a multimedia, 8-session curriculum for middle school and high school students. It is primarily based on social influence theory, which posits that alcohol and other drug use among young people is strongly influenced by social motives, including both overt and covert pressure from friends and others to conform to what is depicted as the group norm. The program aims to positively change youths’ attitudes and perceptions of risk in regard to drug use; in part, by correcting false data as well as incorrect impressions presented by the media and other sources. The curriculum incorporates a unique combination of prevention strategies for addressing the use of tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and common “hard drugs.”
This program literally CHANGES MINDS & SAVES LIVES!
“I have seen very positive feedback from the students. A common remark by many of the students was their newfound knowledge that marijuana stays in the body for years. This proved to be an excellent fact and was presented in a way that was instilled in them. If this holds true for the approximate 260 - 280 students that will view this film each year... the results will be immeasurable in their future decisions to say no to drugs.”

"I can use what I learned to avoid people who are using drugs and offer me drugs. With the knowledge I have I could easily say "NO" and have a reason to say "NO" and actually mean it."
—9th grade, California
Teens are notorious for not paying attention to adults so how do we get these results? Bobby Wiggins has delivered drug education talks to more than 500,000 kids over the last 25 years. The Asst. Principal, Wynn Middle School said it best:
“They [students] listen to a powerful message delivered by a master at holding the attention of kids. This building is full of teachers with many years of experience and I’ll bet that there probably isn’t one of them that could hold over 100 students at one time on a lecture that lasts 45 to 50 minutes. It was just amazing how he could do that.”
We are effectively empowering children and teens with actual science-based facts about drugs so they are confidently able to avoid the pitfalls of peer pressure and false and misleading information so they are not prevented by drugs from attaining happiness and reaching their full potential.
But it goes further than that. When a teen knows the truth about drugs they are empowered to help others.
"I may be able to talk my sister into attempting to quit smoking weed."
—9th grade, New Mexico
"I can use what I learned to help my parents quit drugs.”
—12th grade, Oklahoma
That’s powerful, especially when coming from middle school and high school students.
The challenge we fact today is that budgets for health and drug education have been slashed in many school districts.
We openend this Go Fund Me page to put these badly needed materials into 500 public schools during Red Ribbon Week – which is a week in tribute to a fallen DEA agent that is dedicated to raising awareness of drug, alcohol and violence prevention from October 23–31.
Each kit costs $300 and can be used year after year to educate hundreds of students. Some schools have reported that more than a thousand students have viewed the videos in a single year.
A donation in any amount helps — $25, $50, $100, $500 or more.
You can sponsor a school for just $300. Let us know if there is a specific school you would like to receive the program and we will contact you for details.
Together we can help prevent needless drug overdoses, addiction and wasted lives.
As I write this I'm looking at a letter we received from Diane, who is the director of a summer camp program.
“Mr. Wiggins came to our camp and spoke to all ages of my campers from 8am until 3pm. I was busy and could not catch his presentation until the final group. After his presentation I went to him and told him that when he banged on the blackboard to start his presentation I found myself back in the 6th grade.
The presentation that he gave my 6th grade class kept me off drugs through high school, through my college years. Not only that, I have three friends that we could call right now who would tell you the exact same thing. You empowered me to stay off drugs for the rest of my life.
I was so happy I found him because I’ve been wanting to tell him this for years.”
Not everyone is so fortunate. I pray your family hasn't’ suffered a personal tragedy but it is unlikely that you don’t know someone who has been touched by today’s drug epidemic.
No matter what you can do to help, we would like you to share this news with your friends, family and co-workers…the more people who know there is now a truly effective drug education program for public schools, the more children and teens we can reach. To help you do this we have created a gallery of images you can use on Facebook and Instagram and a flyer you can post on local notice boards.
As a special thank you we want you to have a free copy of the book: How to Tell if Your Teen is Using Drugs & How to Help Them. Click on the link to download your free copy.
