Drug side effect almost killed my wife

Donation protected
My name is Timy Nixon. I live with RSD (severe nerve damage) and have been disabled since 2009. Luckily my wife Amanda has loved, supported, and stuck with me through all of it. From taking on the weight of being that single income to searching the darks place I’ve been in since my fall. A friend told me to be honest so these are my wife’s words …

So I guess it’s time for an update. I’ve basically disappeared from social media this last year. I don’t think I’ve even started accepting this is all happening, hoping that putting this out there helps.

The short story, I’m having severe side effects from a medication I started taking in May. I’ve been having seizures lasting hours while awake, unable to speak. I’m aware enough I know what to say, but am either unable to say it or sound like I’m deaf.

I’m having tremors, stuttering and stammering, light sensitive, muscle weakness and fatigue, numbness in my hands and feet, pain in my joints, panic and anxiety attacks almost on the daily. The seizures started 10/16 and that's when we learned all of what I thought were PTS from Riley's accident has all been side effects.

I finally just got into a neurologist the end of last week, I was originally scheduled for mid-December though I've been to the ER by ambulance multiple times. The last time I had to be sedated in order to safely get me out of the house because it was so severe. That has been one of the most terrifying thing I've ever been through. I’m trying not to stress and get emotional about it all, because it has been triggering a panic attack, which induces seizures. I literally have to retype words because I'm not remembering how to spell them or type them wrong because of my tremors.

We’re finding a therapist for Isabelle because she found me the second time and has not been sleeping and having nightmares since.

I had an EEG scheduled this afternoon, which caused a seizure and nearly a second one. As part of the test, she asked me how much a dime, penny, and nickel was and I had to count it on my fingers ! I have an MRI next week, and scheduling additional labs.

To top it all off, because of the side effects, I’ve also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

We're trying to figure how we're going to survive on my reduced income if my short term disability ever kicks in. Everything we think of puts us into a wall. I'm terrified, frustrated, and physically and mentally exhausted.

PSA: if you have a psychiatrist that recommends Auvelity for treatment resistant depression. Take note of the side effects and think twice. I thought it was helping but has sent my health into a downward spiral.
I don’t know how much we need cause it hasn’t stopped adding up. I hate asking for help but I got no more rope to climb down on
