Drummers Support Australian Bushfire Relief
The bushfires of 2019-2020 continue to have a devastating impact on much of Australia. Over fifteen million acres of bushland has now burned with the scale of these fires dwarfing the California and Amazon forest fires combined. Twenty eight people and an estimated one billion animals have now been killed. Thousands of properties have been destroyed or damaged, and thousands of people have been displaced. The immediate and long-term aftermath of this disaster will present challenges the likes of which our country hasn’t seen for some time.
Kentville Drums and Evetts Drums have decided to create a joint campaign to call on our small but close-knit community of drummers to help. With so many worthy causes to donate to, we have chosen to pledge the total of all donations to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. The Red Cross is providing vital emergency assistance to those affected in the form of evacuation centre support, cash grants to those who have lost homes, psychological aid, support to volunteers, long term recovery programs and help in preparing communities for future disasters.
To show our gratitude to all those that donate, we will be offering a few thank you gifts to randomly selected donors. You can read more details about this on the Kentville Drums and Evetts Drums social media pages.
