Percussion Study in Brasil

I’m Quiahuitl Villegas, I’m an educator, director, and musician in Tucson, Az. Currently I work with Sonido Tambó, Key Ingredients of African Soul, and Canciones Sin Fronteras, Flam Chen and Atelierista of the Experimental Rhythm and Beats Studio. My main focus through my drumming career has been Brazilian percussion, it’s been part of my life since I was 18. Brazil has been a place I’ve wanted to travel and study percussion in since that time, to deepen my connection to the rhythms I’ve fallen deeply in love with.

I will be traveling with Dancer/Choreographer Kebrina Josefina De Jesus, the founder and director of Samba Colorado. We will be focusing our study within Salvador, Bahia. 

This will help cover costs of plane ticket, visa and expenses throughout the trip.

The month of January 2019 is when I'll be studying in Salvador, I'm hoping that 2 months will be enough time to raise funds!
