Drunk driver hit our house!

Hi! My names Chris and I am raising money to help get our house fixed.. I am not the asking type but in this situation I am not thinking of me, I am thinking of my wife and son.

On the night of November 20th 2023 at 6:00pm a drunk driver was speeding and driving recklessly and crashed into our house. My wife, 2 year old son and myself were inside the home when this happened. The driver lost control of the vehicle and broke through the telephone pole which redirected the vehicle towards our house. In doing so, the driver hit our house and took out the gas meter which essentially broke the gas line so my family was forced to evacuate immediately and not to return until the gas meter was replaced. The window you see just to the right of where the accident happened is the window where my wife and I lay our heads at night. My wife was in the kitchen cooking dinner for her and I. I was in the front room with our son feeding him dinner when this occurred. Thankfully no one in the house was injured!

We have been going through the legal procedure to have this handled according but we are not getting any good results. We had to file an insurance claim and insurance is only offering us $120 with a $1,000 deductible. Clearly from this image you can see that more than $120 was damaged. The drunk driver didn’t even own the car and there was no insurance on the car either.

What needs to be done: Our brick face needs to be replaced, the siding needs to be replaced, our son’s bedroom window is now leaking water which may cause black mold, the car busted a hole in the foundation cinder block of the house and with the recent modernize I-75 project we ended up getting rats, the grass is damaged and mentally we have ptsd from this.
