Face Masks and Shields for Hospital Staff
Donation protected
In the critical on-going fight against COVID-19, we, FTC Team 9784 Dry Ice Robotics, are seeking funds to create 3D-printed face shields and face masks to offer protection to health workers risking their lives on the front lines.
The reusable face shields that we currently produce use a design that has been evaluated in clinical settings and was recommended by the National Institute of Health as part of their 3D print exchange program. They provide comfort and extra protection.
So far, we have donated over 1500 3D-printed face shields and 620 N95 masks to 27 hospitals and organizations in 17 cities and 6 states below. We continued to receive requests from local practice doctors and hospitals seeking more face shields and masks.
-City of Berkeley, Berkeley, CA
-St. Francis Convalescent Pavilion, Daly City, CA
-St. Rose Hospital Emergency Room, Hayward, CA
-Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Los angeles, CA
-Pacifica Nursing & Rehab Center, Pacifica, CA
-VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto, CA
-Kaiser Permanente Redwood City, Redwood City, CA
-City of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
-Hospice by the Bay, San Francisco, CA
-Laguna Honda Hospital, San Francisco, CA
-San Francisco Otolaryngology Medical Group, San Francisco, CA
-San Francisco VA Medical Center, San Francisco, CA
-UCSF HEAL Initiative to support Navajo Nation, Arizona
-Brookside Nursing, San Mateo, CA
-San Mateo Medical Center, San Mateo, CA
-Hill Physicians Medical Group, San Ramon, CA
-Santa Clara Valley Medical and Trauma Center, Santa Clara, CA
-Muir Orthopaedic Specialists, Walnut Creek, CA
-Transcendentist, Berkeley, CA
-Alice Fu’s family, Los angeles, CA
-La Plazita Community Building, Oakland, CA
-Zuckerberg General Hospital, San Francisco, CA
-San Mateo Sunrise Senior Living, San Mateo, CA
-Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA
-Mercy South Medical Center, St Louis, MO
-Grandview Hospital ICU, Dayton, OH
-Kingwood Hospital, Houston, TX
Hence, we are fundraising to produce a large volume of these items to serve more hospitals, both local and distant.
Your funds will help to purchase N95 masks and materials required to 3-D print face shields. We are working day and night to print the designs, assemble the shields, and deliver them to the workers. With these funds, we plan to produce 1500 more face shields and donate 1000 N-95 face masks.
How can you help?
Donate and help save the lives of our hard-working health care workers. With your contributions, we can offer more safety and confidence in the health service teams that are working non-stop to care for ill patients.
Please donate as much as you’re able to. Every penny counts! We appreciate anything you graciously provide. If you are a corporation or wish to make a substantial donation to help our cause, please email us directly at [email redacted].
If you are an organization or health worker in need of face shields or masks, please fill out this form and we will do our best to fulfill your request.
We thank you for serving our country in these tough times.
About us:
We are a San Francisco Bay Area-based robotics team of high schoolers dedicated to exploring engineering and robotics. We participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition, actively representing our name in design, software, communication, and more: Don’t Repeat Yourself and Innovative Creative Engineering (Dry Ice). Using these two principles, we learn from our mistakes and progress to becoming a better team that can give back to the community.
