Help Hank Walk Again: From Tragedy to Triumph

Hi Everyone,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share that our beloved Hank, my nephew’s loyal companion and best friend, was recently involved in a tragic accident. Unfortunately, the accident has left Hank paralyzed from the waist down, and our world has been turned upside down.

Hank is not just a pet—he’s family. Five years ago, Hank was rescued as a pup from the Caribbean Islands and brought to the USA by my niece. The original adopter backed out when they arrived on USA soil. Instead of abandoning Hank to a shelter, her family lovingly decided to take him in and add him to the family. He has been my nephew's constant companion since day one.

Hank has brought so much joy, love, and laughter into the lives of those who have the privilege of meeting him. He is a gentle giant to my little 8-pound girl (Sassi), who loves him and is wondering where he is. Seeing him struggle these past few days has been heartbreaking.

Despite the challenges, we know that Hank is a fighter and continues to show his sweet and resilient spirit.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

The accident has left the family facing extensive medical bills, including:

* X-rays and MRIs to diagnose the extent of his injury

* Medications to ease the pain and reduce the swelling around his spinal cord

* Rehabilitation and physical therapy sessions to restore any function left and to provide hope

* Ongoing medical and veterinary check-ups

* Potential mobility aids such as a sling or dog wheelchair for his back legs

The cost to date has been overwhelming, and we humbly ask for support to help give Hank the best chance at recovery and a happy, comfortable life. My nephew is dedicated to Hank's recovery and is doing all he can in the future to guarantee Hank lives his best life, even though we do not know what that looks like at this point.
