AJ's Top Surgery Fund

Hello,

I’m AJ (they/them). I'm a sometimes drag king who performs with the Bitten Peach - the UK’s biggest queer asian cabaret collective - under the drag name Daddy & Friends.

I’ve always had a *not-great* relationship to my boobs but grew up in a small town environment that was void of any queer or trans representation, not realising that other possibilities could exist outside binary boxes. I put my discomfort with my boobs down to general body image issues and tried to put the upset with my body aside.

Years later, thanks to amazing enby/trans friends I've made - a lot of them also part of the drag king community here that I'm grateful to be a part of - I’ve realised that I don’t have to live with this upset every day. So after talking about wanting to chop my boobs off for some time now, I’ve decided that this is the year I am finallyyyyy going to take the step to feel more me - and make the dream of being happy with my chest a reality.

I’m looking to raise £10,000 to cover:

Consultation with Gender Psychiatrist, may need more than one - £200-£400

Consultation with Surgeon - £200-£300

Top Surgery - £7,500 - £9,500

I’ll also be taking on more work in the lead up to surgery so I can cover my bills when I’m in recovery and not able to work. Over the next year I’ll be holding various top surgery fundraisers, and self-contributing the profits raised from these shows to this fund.

Excess money raised will be donated to other top surgery fundraisers.
