Little Nolan’s Arm Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Leah and I'm fundraising for Shelby's son Nolan. Nolan was born with a rare genetic defect in both arms, so rare the doctors have started clinical studies to hopefully better help kids like him. Unfortunately, because of this, Nolan will need major surgery on his right arm to help give him a better life. As of right now, he has a hard time doing daily tasks with his right arm, which is also his dominant arm. Simple things like catching a ball, holding things, and even feeding himself are hard for him to do. His doctors say that his mobility limitations are at 70% and hopefully after his surgery he'll be at 20%. They will have to cut him open, break his bone, then slowly rotate it along with the muscles and nerves into a better position and then screw them in place after cutting out some of the bone and tissue to reduce swelling and limit complications. He'll need to stay at least one night in Atlanta, and then go back after 6 weeks to get the screws removed in office, while awake. He'll need 2 weeks of physical therapy as well. Shelby has been reluctant to ask for help, but while his insurance covers the procedure and office visits, it doesn't cover the hotel rooms she'll have to get to stay with him. With that and all the time she's going to have to take off from work to take care of him while he's recovering and in pain, she won't be able to afford it all by herself since she's a single mother with no help from Nolan's father. If you can, please help her out so they can get through this difficult time without worrying about the financial burden of it all, and look forward to his healing and better quality of life. Thank you!
