Dublin gaa fans fundraiser for Tj

Hi all

We (Tj’s parents) are organising a draw, in conjunction with the Dublin GAA Fans FB page , for a signed Dubs jersey, which has kindly been donated by the County Board. All donations made will be entered into a draw.

1 entry costs €5, with 3 entries for €10 and 8 entries for €20.

This is the story of little True Blue, Tj Needham, who lives in Stoneybatter in Dublin 7. She is big Dublin GAA fan and she needs your help to walk.

Claire's and Jay's little miracle baby , Tj was born on the 7th of October 2020 at 2.42 am.

The story began when Claire went for a 30 week which should have really been done at 24 - 26 weeks, but due to an error in the hospital system, it was unfortunately delayed.

Claire was given the worst news possible that day, a day which herself and Jay will never forget. They learnt that their baby would be badly deformed and would have no quality of life because her brain was badly swollen and her spine could not be detected.

Claire was advised that her best option would be to go to England to abort her precious baby.

However despite this devastating news, Claire decided not to give up on her baby and continued the pregnancy, hoping for a miracle.

It was a stressful and traumatic time for Claire and Jay, as they prayed for the survival of little angel.

The doctors had said that she would only live a few hours, so they were sadly planning their little baby's funeral.

However the miracle they had been praying for happened, and Tj is still with us. She was born with severe spinal bifida meningocele and despite the Doctors tellimg Claire and Jay that Tj wouldn’t even be able to move her legs,she is now actually able to swing them.

However to be able to walk, Tj requires a special type of physiotherapy, which isn’t available here in Ireland. The positive news is that Tj has been accepted fot treatment in the Peto Institute in Budapest in Hungary but this treatment and all the special equipment costs about €100,000.

We understand times are tough for many of us but we appeal to you to please help out if you can.
