In the amazing words of his daughter in law, Blaze
"On May 22, 2020, Clement “Claude” Ducharme lost his courageous battle with cancer at the age of 57. Claude was a wonderful father, brother and friend who touched the lives of those around him. Claude is survived by his children, Armand (Blaze), Branden, many siblings and friends.
Claude was born March 14, 1963 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was dedicated to his work (machinist) but after his accident in 1994, his priorities changed. Life was not always easy for him. Despite this, Claude always overcame the adversities that the world threw at him. His dedication was directed to being a stay at home father for his two boys (Armand and Branden). After the death of his wife Jacqueline Ducharme (Pelland) in 2010, Claude spent the rest of his years teaching his boys to be the men they are today. His boys will be forever grateful for everything he has done for them. They are proud to call him Dad.
We are all devastated by Claude’s loss and the family was not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Claude the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
The funeral will be on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R2W 3V7. Burial to follow in St. Laurent, Manitoba."
Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting this incredible family knows that they give selflessly to the community around them! Whether it's offering up support through one of Blaze's photography fundraisers (she is offering one up now for this too); rescuing a desolate animal or even helping a deer stranded on the ice, you can count on them to show up and pitch in. Now is the time for us to give back. In this time of pandemic, the world is harsh enough.... now imagine planning a funeral when you were supposed to be planning a wedding social, wedding and celebration! This is just a piece of what they are going through!
If you have it in your resources to donate, please do so. If your finances are strained at this time or you aren't able to support with money, please share and help spread the word.... together, we can show this family that they will always be held in our hearts!
