Max Maurer aka DUCK VADER is a recent amputee.

Hi my name is Lonnie Carroll. Max Maurer aka DUCK VADER had his lower leg amputated this week due to complications from diabetes. He is down but he is not out. Certainly he will be applying for disability but that can take several years. He currently shares a home with his fiancée and her two daughters out in Sandy. 100 % of the funds will be going toward day to day living expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries etc and whatever new gadgets a guy with one leg can use or need.

 

Thousands of you know him as DUCK VADER and if you’ve been to a University of Oregon football game in the last ten years you may have encountered him yourself or had your picture taken with him. His fans have sent him around the country to cheer UO on at away games. He looks forward in the future to having a prosthetic DUCK leg to wear with his DUCK VADER attire. But first he has to heal and learn to walk again.

 

For those who know him personally you know he is one of the nicest guys possible. I worked with him for years at Encore Poker and every night, no matter how late , he would fill his car with people who needed a ride home night after night and take them home.

 

Imagine waking up tomorrow and not having a foot and part of you leg?  I can”t even myself. But how would you support yourself in that situation? He is laying in the hospital dreaming of ways to reinvent himself and this is your chance to help. Thank you for reading and feel free to say a prayer for him.
