I am a Black Latinx Queer Nonbinary Disabled person whom is also Low Income.
After enduring unstable housing for the past year, I am currently homeless. I have been living out of my car/staying with a friend on their couch for the last three weeks, while all of my belongings and furniture are in storage. Traveling from/to work with limited resources while making sure all my bills are paid has been a challenge.
I found a space that fits my needs, but I need to raise at least $1,000.00 for the deposit before I am able to submit my application. My planned move-in time is only a week away (Oct 1st) so it is urgent I raise the funds in time. I need your support to secure the space ASAP!
Many know me as an Co-MC for OutSpoken Sessions LGBTQIA+ Open mic. I am on the planning committee of OutSpoken Sessions and former Board Member of Equal Action. In addition, I am also Co-Founder and Member of the Los Angeles Spoonie Collective, as well as an Advisory Board Member and former President of ASDAH (Association Size Diversity and Health).
Unfortunately I was forced to step down from my role as President of ASDAH due to my situation. Securing this place would help ensure my physical and mental stability, which has deteriorated due to the stress of not having stable housing.
Any funds donated will help me pay for the following:
2,000: 1st months rent and deposit (1,000 each)
500: UHaul and moving costs
