Dugouts for Northwood High School
Donation protected
Since the reopening of Northwood High School in 2004, the baseball team has experienced its fair share of successes and heartbreaks. Many of those heartbreaks coming at the hands of a field that is consistently in a state of disrepair. From the collapse of the backstop during the 2010 Snowmaggedon, to a field that floods when it rains, to an outfield with no fence. It's an understatement to say that Northwood does not possess one of the preeminent fields in Montgomery County Public Schools. Many would say that Northwood has the worst field in the Down County Consortium. But this campaign is looking to change that.
With your help, Northwood will make the first of hopefully many upgrades to their baseball field. Northwood will be adding home and away dugouts - a staple of any top-notch baseball field. These dugouts will instantly put the facilities on equal footing with other schools in the Down County Consortium, as well as be the first step towards competing with schools across the county for best facilities.
As a former four-year player with Northwood baseball, I was aways envious of other schools and their baseball fields. The field has the bare minimum for qualifications: Four bases, a backstop, dirt, grass, and a pitchers mound. With these dugouts, the bare minimum will be a thing of the past. Help Northwood give their baseball players the dugouts they have worked for and deserve. Help begin to make Northwood's baseball facilities something the players, coaches, parents, and school can be proud to call their home field.
