Security Cam Video: DUI crash into side of house/garage on 28Oct22 at appx 3am

I am Rod L King in Deltona, FL. A lady was arrested for DUI after crashing into my house at 3am. The impact was so intense because she did NOT brake, at all. The car went completely through a red brick wall, leaving brick pieces impaled in the drywall on the other side of the garage. Virtually EVERYTHING in the garage was destroyed, either by impact or by water that was spraying from the water lines of the filtration softener system when it was plowed thru and partially ripped from the ground. Also, EVERYTHING got wet or exposed during the rain and winds of Hurricane Nicole. Power was shut off because live wires were hanging from wall she went through, causing a short in circuit. The water was shut off, as I explained above. I had to pay an electrician to inspect the electrical damage and to cap the wires to turn the power on to house.

We currently have no water and have to go hotel mainly for showers. There is extensive structural damage throughout the house, not just to the garage area. Needless to say, the "unexpected" out-of-pocket expenses have been very challenging to deal with. As you may know and have experienced, the homeowner's insurance process is NOT a fast one. I am confident and faithful that everything will be repaired and replaced, but I have absolutely no idea of how long it will take, but I was told it could be up to 40 days... "...just before, around or after Christmas."

The garage was more than just a garage...it was my #RodPod; my business office for KAPDIV, my gym, my mancave, my kayak and athletic equipment storage...and my garage with tools, workbench and electronic station for drone repairs and other nerd stuff with my son, Braxton. Three of my best drones were destroyed, along with my custom wifi portable stream station (all had cases, but were open) with Macbook Pro. I have not been able to take drone jobs or do much of anything.

The stress and inconvenience of all of this is more than what I can explain in words. I am so very thankful to God that I wasn't in there, at the time...when, I am usually up and working/editing at 3am or later. After the shock wore off, it was difficult for a few days realizing what 'could have happened.' The driver did not have one scratch on her, from what I could tell. She was walking around, talking and smiling, like it was just another day.

As this has been very difficult and the last thing I needed to deal with in my life, right now... just before Thanksgiving and Christmas, my #faith continues to carry me, my son #Brax and my brother-in-law, #Johnito, going forward. We appreciate the concern, care, love and support from all of our friends, family and very generous people out in the world.

We can't say THANK YOU enough.
