Be a Hero for a Hero!! Joseph Salmon all so known as "Joe Strong" is an 18-year-old High School athlete that back in February saved a 83 year old man and his dog from drowning when their jeep went through the ice in okoboji, Iowa. While hunting with friends Joseph was shot in the head and in critical condition. After being flown to Avera hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota he was put in a self-induced coma. When he was brought out of the coma and stable he was transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha Nebraska. Just a few short days at Madonna Joe had to be transported to Children's Nebraska Hospital where they found a large blood clot, so he was rushed into surgery to remove the blood clot. While in recovery in the ICU unit Joe encountered multiple complications, he then had to go back into surgery on November 15th November 17th November 24th November 27th and again on December 13th after recovering from all the different surgeries he was then transferred back to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha where he is currently now receiving acute therapy working on his way to return home.
