Duke Ostendorf Camper Fund

Jennie Ostendorf is organizing this fundraiser to benefit Young Men's Christian Association of Metropolitan Los Angeles.

Duke Ostendorf started his career at the East Valley YMCA while in college. He went on to become a program director on the professional staff at the Wilshire, Southwest LA, and Palisades-Malibu YMCAs where he organized youth programming, passionately committed to bringing city kids into nature. Spending time with children was always a great joy for Duke. He kept in contact with several of his campers throughout the rest of his life, many of whom comment on the impact Duke and the YMCA had on their lives during their childhoods and as they transitioned into adulthood.

In retirement, Duke returned to the YMCA, serving on the Board of the Palisades-Malibu branch and spending many years as Board Chairman.

In his honor, we are raising funds to help underserved children attend YMCA summer camps and enrichment programs, supporting the Y's commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
