Today, the day before Thanksgiving, we had one more step at the vet for Duke before he could be adopted. We have found a very loving family to adopt him. But we needed to have Duke's leg and hip x-rayed so the new owner would know what they were getting themselves into. When we checked Duke in he had an occasional limp and hobble. Well occasional meaning every day, multiple times. We asked the previous owner and they said it had been like that since a puppy and they were not aware of an injury. Today the vet had to tell us that Duke has a deformed bone. He recommended surgery in that Duke is quite young. Between the X-rays and the surgery it will cost $3,000. This dog is a super great dog. Gets along with people of all ages and dogs, Bark from the Heart Rescue feels Duke deserves this surgery. Please help us make it a great thankful holiday from Duke, and lets get it fixed.
