Duke’s Emergency GDV (BLOAT) Surgery & Cremation

Hi, my name is Doreen and I am trying to raise funds to help my daughter Mandie pay for her beautiful German Shepherd Duke’s Emergency Surgery for GDV (BLOAT) and Cremation cost.

On June 7th Mandie rushed Duke to three 24 hour emergency centers. Duke’s had been going to Centennial Animal all his life and had an issue the week before and the Vet told Mandie if Duke’s condition went south to call or bring him in immediately. Mandie called as she was in route and they turned him away because they already had 5 emergencies that day. Mandie explained that the Vet said to bring him in and they told her he was at lunch and they could not take him. They sent her to a emergency center that was no longer in business, then she went to Arlington 24 Hour Emergency Center who said to bring him in and was aware he possibly had BLOAT, and asked for a $1500 deposit just to see him. Mandie hurried Duke there to be told that he did have BLOAT but they didn’t have a doctor to see him. Finally Mandie found VCA in Ontario which was now 40 mins away who lovingly took Duke into their care. The only options Mandie had was to euthanize Duke of take a chance and go for the surgery. Duke is her baby, so she felt she had to let them try to save his life. Unfortunately after removing half of his stomach and several attempts at CPR, we had no choice but to let him go.

Setting up this gofundme account is important to me because Mandie fought so hard to get Duke the help he needed and due to all the runaround that she got I believe that is why her Sweet Guy didn’t make it.

Funds received will go to the Emergency Surgery Cost and Dukes cremation.
