Duke's CT & Rhinoscopy - Help Save His Life
Donation protected
Duke is a Royal Bahamian Potcake rescued from the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian in September 2019. His rescue video can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/p/B7qmmO-hBPO/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
When I adopted Duke in October, I was not aware that he had a broken femur, Anaplasma, Ehrlicia, and a chest full of Heartworms. Thankfully, with lots of support and veterinary care, Duke overcame the odds and even made a feline best friend. See their story on his Instagram, @bahamasduke https://www.instagram.com/bahamasduke/?hl=en
Then, in October, Duke became sick with an upper respiratory virus. Despite going to three different vets, going on six different antibiotics, and spending over $3,000, Duke has worsened. He now has chronic bronchial pneumonia, and tests positive for Staphylococcus and E. Coli.
His regular veterinarian has said there is nothing more they can do for him, and his only chance of survival lies in receiving a rhinoscopy and possibly a CAT scan. The hope is they find a foreign body that can be removed and that it would explain his inability to get well. Estimates for these procedures are between $3,000 and $5,000. I have exhausted my resources and am hoping that small donations from loved ones will help enable me to get him well. Duke is struggling, and I am really hopeful that additional care can turn things around for him. He is a beloved and critical member of our family, and we would be heartbroken to lose him. Any donation would be immensely appreciated.
