Dunbar Education is raising money for SatB2

Dunbar Education is an education recruitment agency, and every year we like to raise money for a charity.

 

This year's chosen charity is very close to home & we have decided to raise money for SATB2 Gene Trust UK.

The SATB2 Gene Trust UK was established to enhance the lives of those affected by SATB2-associated syndrome by providing emotional and educational support, and by raising awareness and supporting research

Their mission will be met by:

- Raising awareness about the characteristics of SATB-2–associated syndrome

- Providing support to families

- Supporting research in a wide range of issues related to SATB2-associated syndrome
 

 

What is SATb2?

 

The SATB2-associated syndrome is a condition that affects several body systems. It is characterized by intellectual disability, severe speech problems, dental abnormalities, other abnormalities of the head and face (craniofacial anomalies), and behavioural problems.

Some of the common features can be described using the acronym SATB2 (which is the name of the gene involved in the condition): severe speech anomalies, abnormalities of the palate, teeth anomalies, behaviour issues, with or without bone or brain anomalies, and onset before age 2.

 

The employees at Dunbar Education are taking part in this year's Colour Obstacle 5k to raise awareness and would love to raise £500 (or more!) for our chosen foundation.
