These four kids lost both of their parents in less than a year. Their father died of cancer in June, 2017. The family was still working hard to figure out how to adjust to this tragic loss when their mother fell ill to an infection that caused severe damage to her brain. She is currently in hospice care. Katy, the oldest, is in her third year of college, studying Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech. Grace is in her second year at the University of Virginia planning to become a doctor. Michael is in 10th grade and plays tuba in the marching band and Joe is in 6th grade and is playing both the trombone and the cello.
They are all wonderful and intelligent children with bright futures but they are terrified about how that future can still become a reality. People keep asking how they can help, and it was their parents' (Terry and Mary Jo's) dream that their four kids finish college. While there was some money saved for that purpose, it will not be enough. It will take as much help as possible to allow all four kids to get through college as well as cover normal living expenses.
