The Dundas Preservation Association was formed to appeal the 9 storey, 72 unit proposed development on 71 Main Street and 10 Baldwin Street, in Dundas Ontario. This proposal could set a precedent in which developers are able to build massive high rise apartment/condo buildings right next to a row / or directly in the middle of a neighbourhood of homes. Our Association has been fighting this proposed development and has appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board. The pre-hearing took place August 15th, 2016 at Town Hall, and the actual hearing is anticipated to be held in April, 2017.
Allowing this development to be built could mean that a similar project could happen in any of OUR neighbourhoods, bedside your home.
We are raising funds to fight the proposal at the Ontario Municipal Board, current estimated legal costs being $60,000 +.
We would be so very thankful for any contribution you would be willing to make towards our goal; as we are dedicating our efforts not only to the preservation of Downtown Dundas' historical character, but most importantly to all of us....the people in the neighbourhoods of our lovely picturesque little town.
Thank you,
