TWO MILE HOUSE Says No, as most of you are aware Strategic Power Projects Ltd is seeking permission to build a facility which will encompass 10 acres of land opposite Camphill Community Dunshane (Planning Ref. No. 21608 KCC). This is to include a compound of 76 Lithium ion Battery Storage units( 50ft). This is the equivalent of 5 GAA pitches, 200 tennis courts or 30 Olympic swimming pools!! In addition to this the company has also lodged a pre application request with An Bord Pleanala for a 220KV Sub Station with connection to the grid. We already have a 440KV Sub Station near our homes, we don't want any more.
Our main concerns are:
*Health & Safety for people in the area (Fire & Toxins).
*Landscape and Visual Impact.
*Noise & Glint & Glare Pollution
*Increased traffic on our roads that are not fit for this.
*Environmental and ecological impact.
*Close proximity to many houses, a residential home, and local amenities.
*Grave concerns about our beautiful Commons with all its natural flora and fauna, not to mention the Commons road for all our walkers.
This page is being set up to fund our campaign to oppose these planning applications. As we are on a very tight deadline (Submission date 9th/6/2021) we urgently need funds. We will be very much grateful to anyone in the area that does not want these projects to go ahead to "Donate" to this cause, all money raised will go towards our Communities fight against these developments(to include financing for reports, publicity etc). Any monies left over after this campaign will be donated to a local charity.
