Durham Family in Need

One of my dearest friends and her family are going through a very tough time after a car accident that occurred near downtown Durham last week. They are a single income household, and have been struggling to make ends meet each month. They only had one older car for the family and it was totaled. Because of their financial constraints, she has been without health insurance for a good while and is now dealing with the physical repercussions of the accident.

Her partner works late at a local establishment where he needs a way to get home from work every night. They also need a way to get their 9 year old son to and from school each day.

They are wonderful humans. This car crash couldn’t have come at a harder time for them, and asking others for help is the last thing they want to do. At this point, things seem pretty dire, and I am hopeful that we can pool resources to help them through this time. Otherwise, I’m afraid they stand to lose their home and potentially his job.
