Help the Dursts Recover After Hurricane Idalia
Donation protected
Heather and David Durst lost their home to a fire during Hurricane Idalia. After dreaming about living by the water for years, the Dursts finally moved to Hudson, Florida in 2021. They poured their hearts into personalizing every inch of their forever home, covering it with family heirlooms and building much of the furniture and outdoor deck. Devastatingly, their home caught fire during the surge of Hurricane Idalia, scorching everything and leaving very little to be salvaged. Years of hard work and decades of memorabilia were destroyed while they watched from a safe location across the street.
While Heather and David wouldn’t ask for help themselves, their children (me, Mason, Drake, and our spouses) created this GoFundMe to provide a way for family and friends to show their support as the Dursts rebuild their home and their lives in Florida. They deeply appreciate any contributions and/or well wishes.
Funds will be used to cover insurance deductibles, temporary housing expenses (e.g., hotels), and basic necessities (e.g., clothing, toiletries). All contributions will be paid directly to the Dursts.
