DUSK LILY FLOWER TRUCK
My name is Taylor Amilas Bates. I am a 26 year old black artist and floral designer based in Chicago. I am the founder and CEO of Dusk Lily Floral. I started this company about 8 months ago after working in the floral industry for over two years. Dusk Lily Floral started off as a one woman passion project that turned into a legitimate floral design company.
My company is truly my passion and one HUGE factor that is enabling me as a floral designer is lack of reliable transportation. Not having a vehicle makes my weekly trips to the flower market extremely difficult and taking public trans/ride shares are very expensive. I am also limited to primarily doing pick-up orders, not to mention, weddings and events are basically impossible because I dont have reliable transportation. I would love to provide my clients with better customer service which in turn will help me business grow. I currently do not have the funds to put a down payment on a vehicle considering I’m an independent woman working full time while trying to pay bills and rent.
