Dustin Cogliano & Veronica Cutchall and their boys

I am the mother of Dustin Cogliano, mother in law to Veronica Cutchall and grandparent to Landon and Micah. On 2/8/24 my son and his family lost their home to a house fire. They are all safe due to the heroic efforts of the West Islip Fire Department and the Suffolk County Police Department.

Dustin and Veronica are active members of the West Islip community. Their children play a variety of sports and attend Paul J. Bellew Elementary School.

They have lost everything and are currently staying with family while waiting for emergency housing to become available. As we know these things take time.

As a parent and grandparent, I am heartbroken for my children. I know that the road ahead will be long. There will be many unexpected expenses. We may not be able to take away the trauma of the experience, but I do believe that the love and support of our friends and family will provide a measure of comfort during these difficult times.
