In memory of Dustin Nimegeers

On December 20th, 2022 we lost a member of our family unexpectedly. Dustin was a devoted and loving husband to Kayla and father to 6-year-old Sawyer.

Dustin first contracted COVID-19 in Dec 2021, and since that time he has struggled with symptoms of long haul COVID. Doctors struggle to understand and treat long haul COVID and as such it was discovered too late that he had inflammation causing pericardial effusion.

On December 20th at the young age of 34 Dustin's heart failed unexpectedly. Upon completion of an autopsy, it was discovered Dustin died from pericardial effusion. He had no signs of heart disease according to the coroner. The pericardial effusion was caused by inflammation due to COVID-19.

Before contracting COVID-19 in 2021 Dustin was a very healthy, active person, he loved camping, hiking, biking, gardening, mine rescue etc.........

On December 13th Dustin, Kayla, Sawyer and their two cats moved into their dream home. Unfortunately after already closing on the house, they discovered via a letter from RBC bank that Dustin was denied insurance coverage on their new mortgage leaving Kayla with the debt.

The funds collected from this GoFundme account are deposited directly to Kayla and Sawyer.
