Dustin's ALS Journey: Your Help Matters

In the Spring of 2024, Dustin Stuhr was diagnosed with A.L.S. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurological disease that causes the degeneration of motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord.

Dustin worked for 27 years as a teacher of students with emotional disabilities at TST Boces, but was forced to retire as a result of his diagnosis. Dustin and his family have fought hard and heroically these many months to overcome the rapidly surmounting financial and practical challenges of losing his physical ability to maintain his home, daily life, and afford the enormous costs of the care he needs.

We are calling for your support to help with the ongoing medical and life expenses as Michelle is taking on the role of full time caregiver, and come together as ONE for a teacher and artist who Dustin has modeled with humility, created opportunities, and given support for countless others during his 30 years in the Greater Ithaca area.
