Nepal Earthquake: Dust to Dignity

                        How can you support Nepal?

The earthquakes that have rocked Nepal over the past month have not just left a trail of destruction, but have significantly disrupted the lives of countless Nepalis. Initial relief and recovery operations must transition as quickly as possible into the reconstruction phase of the disaster to boost the local economy, and getting people “back to work” is essential to restore not just buildings and infrastructure, but also livelihoods.

Bill Ashwell, the Chairman of HOPE Nepal Bioponic Foods (Pvt)Ltd, who has been pioneering aquaponics in Nepal over the past 10 years is getting the villagers mobilized by employing those who have lost homes to recycle the material from their old mud brick houses to make cement stabilized interlocking compressed mud bricks for affordable earthquake resilient reconstruction of their homes after the monsoon rains have past.

Bill believes that employing people is the best way to bring people out of dependency and into dignity, and seed-funding the reconstruction process using a business model is the most sustainable way to rebuild Nepal.  Your donation will help to purchase more brick-makers and assist in paying the local Nepalis wages to enable them to get back on their feet.
