Steven Hackett - The Dutch Bros Guy
Donation protected

Spokane is reeling from a loss today, Steven Hackett has died. By his name alone, not many people know who he was. But if you were to say “the guy who sits on the corner by Dutch Bros" people know exactly who he was. Steven gained national attention when a photo of a Spokane Police officer stopped to give him food. He was part of the homeless epidemic that has gripped Spokane for far too many years. He's been on that corner for so long that google maps street view shows Steven sitting in the same position as he always did. Steven was a kind young man, just 27 years old, who many advocates got to know. He died alone. This is NOT how a person should leave this world.
This gofundme was started with permission from the Hackett family to help cover the costs of a funeral for Steven. A service filled with love. Any money above and beyond the funeral costs will go toward monument/memorial in Steven’s memory.
Stevens life can be a reminder for us all, to judge less and understand more. When you see someone struggling, reach out and help even if it is to say “hello” or shake someone’s hand. Please help us give Steven the goodbye that he deserves. Share this with as many people as you can and pray that Stevens suffering has stopped and let his life be a reminder for others to be kind to one another.
