Helping Heather

Hello family and friends,

As many of you know, I am Heather Hawkins' sister, Chelsea. Unfortunately, on Halloween, she was in a serious car crash. The impact broke her left tibia, fractured her right ankle and foot, and totaled her car. She had to undergo surgery to stabilize the break in her leg and is temporarily wheelchair-bound until her right leg can bear enough weight for crutches. Unable to walk, Heather cannot drive and therefore can’t go to work.

As these stories too often go, the driver was uninsured. Heather has received limited help from her insurance and is bearing much of this financial burden on her own. I am putting this fund together to help offset the cost of her rent, groceries, and medical expenses.

Please consider donating to Heather. For those of you who know her, she always looks out for others. I can attest, being her younger sister. She has always had my back. Not wanting to burden others, Heather pushed back on setting up this fund. I convinced Heather to let me put this together because she shouldn’t have to suffer the consequences of someone else’s poor decisions on her own.
