Help Alicia Fight Breast Cancer

Donation protected
If you know my aunt Alicia, you know that she has never been one to easily ask for or accept help. She has always been the one helping and taking care of others. Last November was the month that changed her needs when she was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. She considers herself one of the fortunate ones that, at this moment, won’t need chemo or radiation, but will need aggressive surgery. She will be going into surgery this Friday the 28th, followed by 6-8 weeks of recovery. It was a long time planning and waiting for 3 surgeons to coordinate their schedules to plan for the 10-12 hour surgery. She has amazing surgeons at Dana Farber and Brigham and Women’s and has total faith in the care she has been receiving. Alicia feels fortunate she has already had family and friends rally around and help to figure this all out. Please say a prayer or send well wishes that during surgery the doctors will find that the cancer has not spread to surrounding tissue or lymph nodes. That in itself will be the best news Alicia, Al, and the kids can receive.
Unfortunately, not only has this been an emotionally difficult time, it also has added financial strain. Not being one to ask for or accept help easily has made this even more difficult for Alicia, but so many have asked what can they do. Between insurance out of pocket expenses ( 2019 & 2020), traveling back and forth to Boston, 1-3 additional surgeries being required over the next 6-12 months, and needing items for recovery, it has already started to add up quickly. Treatment is aggressive because the cancer is aggressive.
Every amount helps. Thank you for your support in any way you can give it.
Both kids, Jordyn & Luke, have been involved in all of this and the family discussed making it “public”. Alicia said that if she can remind or encourage even one person to get those yearly mammograms then going public will be worth it. This was caught on a routine mammogram.
Again, thank you so much for supporting this beautiful family in their time of need. <3
