The price has finally dropped to approx. $800, which also allowed us to pay for the domain name in installments.
We made the initial payment which has allowed us to point the site to muhammadspeaks.com, but we "share" the domain name (in ownership) with the registra until we make the final payment. Then we will own it exclusively.
