DV: Paying tribute to our ray of Sunshine

TW: stalking and domestic violence.
Hello, my name is Emmy. For the last year, my aunt has fought to put a man with a criminal record behind bars. After months of crying for help to police she took it upon herself to protect herself and her four children. In the last six months she has; filed a restraining order, set up cameras, changed her locks, notified her work of all incidents, and legally purchased a firearm to establish a line of defense against this man. Just a few days ago her life was robbed and ruled a homicide and now her children are left behind. After all these months she has tried to do things "by the book", yet the police department has failed her and her children. Patty was a hardworking single mother and had hopes of purchasing a home for her family this year. Women should not have to lose their lives to DV to be made an example of. The system failed Patty and I hate that this is the least I can do to help. If you could find it in your heart to donate, big or small, every dollar will make a huge impact. All funds in this GoFundMe account will be used to cover funeral and loss expenses, as well as aid for her four boys.
If you or anyone suffer from DV, please. Seek medical help. Spot the signs before someone dies.
