South Asians for Black Lives
Tax deductible
In light of recent events, there is a need for South Asians to speak out and stand in solidarity with the Black community. As South Asians it is important for us to use our voices to stand up against racism and support our Black brothers and sisters. While many of us are feeling helpless here are a few easy ways to support the cause. We hope that you will join us in making these pledges and donate if you are able to.
Stand Against Racism Pledge
I pledge to...
-not use racial slurs (ex. the N word).
-challenge and correct racist ideas, actions, and behaviors when I see them, even if it means having an uncomfortable or difficult conversation with my family, friends, colleagues, or others.
-commit to ongoing education about the ways racism shapes the experiences of people of color .
-show empathy for the Black community's experiences.
-challenge myself to see racism in my own thoughts and interactions with others.
-educate myself and participate in local elections.
Our contributions will go towards The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund which is America's legal counsel on issues of race. Through advocacy and litigation, LDF focuses on issues of education, voter protection, economic justice and criminal justice. LDF pursues racial justice to move our nation toward a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. For more information please visit https://www.naacpldf.org.
