Nick Mattson Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Cam and I am starting this fundraiser for my son-in-law Nick Mattson and Michelle Mattson. Michelle is my daughter.

They are always there to lend a helping hand to others, but are reluctant to ask for help for themselves. Nick and Michelle Mattson have four wonderful children: Willow (12), Charlie (7), Jackson (5), and Mallory (7 months).

Nick has worked in the Automotive Industry for 15+ years. Nick in his early teens and early 20’s had lymphoma twice and is a cancer survivor from this. In the past few years, Nick has been dealing with various health issues, including 2 heart attacks. These health issues have had a major impact on his abilities to continue working and also being able to take care of his family and home. Recently, Nick has had several issues arise that caused his Health Care Team to conduct some tests and a several MRI’s.

On October 3rd, Nick was diagnosed with MS and a brain tumor. He will need ongoing treatment as well as surgery for the brain tumor. Surgery and other associated costs have been estimated to be approximately $40,000. At this time, it is unclear how much of their insurance company will cover. He will also be unable to work for an extended period of time following surgery. Nick works for a small family business that does not have paid time off or short-term disability. Michelle will also need to take some time off to help him recover and take care of the children. Family and friends are doing as much as possible to support them, but they also need community support to ensure he gets the care that he needs. All donations will be going directly to medical expenses and to help with household expenses while he recovers and navigates through all of this.
