The Situation:
American Legion Post 336 located in Burlington City, NJ, is launching a fundraising campaign to cover immediate deficits and operating expenses due to COVID-19 crisis. March 2020 the Post had to close its doors by Order of the Governor of New Jersey. Post was closed for approximately 5 ½ months. Scheduled hall rentals and events were canceled, and there was no way of generating revenue until the Post reopened the 2nd week of September 2020. The revenue stopped but the BILLS didn't, causing some deficits. The Post is struggling financially just to meet operating expenses. It is important to note that the Post can only operate at 25% capacity in accordance with the Health and Safety Standards for Indoor Dining Pursuant to Executive Order No. 183 in the State of New Jersey. Therefore, Post 336 is launching a fundraising campaign to manage debt, cover operating expenses, and offset reduced revenue streams until the Post is able to be fully operational again.
American Legion supports and host a merit of community event. Annual Toys for Tots, College Scholarship Programs, free holiday breakfast, lunch and dinners provided to all the local community and veterans. Annual Back to School event for the less fortunate children who may not have school supplies or winter jackets to start school. Just to name a few accomplishments of Post 336 giving back to our community.
