New iPad for Autistic Child!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Alisa and I am the mother of Justice. Justice is 9 years old and has severe nonverbal autism. By God's grace and through the assistance of Ramsey Therapy Group, a pediatric and adult outpatient facility that provides speech, physical, and occupational services, and Oklahoma AbleTech, an organization that provides a number of services and resources to the disabled in the state, Justice was blessed to receive an iPad with LAMP Words for Life software, an assistive technology device that allows him to communicate with his teachers, therapists, and family. Through the use of this iPad, Justice has been able to let me know when he is ready to eat, go to bed, name his colors and shapes, etc. He has even become more verbal as he learned new words through this device! It truly became his voice, and I didn't have to guess what he wanted or needed. He was able to use the iPad at school with his teachers and therapists, who reported academic gains as well.
On July 7th, 2020, I arrived home from work to discover that my home had been broken into, and his iPad had been stolen, along with two other tablets, and the chargers that belonged to these items. I reported this incident to the police, changed my passwords, and enabled Lost mode (once it connects to the Internet).
I am asking for any assistance in helping me purchase a new iPad for Justice. This iPad would be used to replace the one that was stolen and give him his "voice" back so that he can have the opportunity that each one of us has to express ourselves. Thank you for anything you can offer!
