I’m Jen Pelatari and I have a rare cancer, stage IV cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer. The cancer has metastasized throughout my liver and the adjacent lymph nodes. Currently I am on a new targeted therapy, Pemazyre, that is keeping me stable.
I was diagnosed in February 2022 and it’s a miracle to still be alive! The 5 year survival rate is 2% and I intend to celebrate that milestone.
In the meantime, we are dealing with thousands of dollars in medical bills. While we are fine on a day to day basis, we’ve depleted our savings and are facing a new round of deductibles in January. Or goal is to not only pay down these bills but also build back up a reserve for deductibles, medications, and all the the other emergencies that happen.
My cancer is incurable. We will be facing medical expenses for the rest of my life, however long it may be.
The fundraiser will remain up indefinitely so anytime you feel like sharing a dollar, we would be beyond grateful.
